clubs based in Tasman, New Zealand, study the Martial Art of
Shohei-Ryu, formerly known as Uechi-Ryu. Shohei-Ryu is a system of
self-defence which imitates the animal movements of the Crane, Tiger
and the Dragon. Originally taught in ancient China, Shohei-Ryu Karate
not only provides a means of personal security but is an excellent way
of keeping fit and building confidence. It can be studied by male and
female, old and young.
The Okinawa Karate Association N.Z. is affiliated to the Okinawa
Karate-Do Association in Okinawa, Japan. The group welcomes all,
whether you are a beginner or have experience in Martial Arts.
